As a member of the National
Speakers Association, and the GLAC (Greater Los Angeles Chapter),
Garry speaks to business people in conferences, conventions, and
retreats throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico. Meeting
Planners solicit Garry to speak when they wish to have a
seasoned speaker deliver a message
to specific audiences for specified and defined purposes. The speech
theme for which Garry is known is the criticality of a consistent
business vision communicated throughout
the organization, and how that message is delivered to each and
every person within the organization.
As a long-time Toastmaster and professional speaker, Garry has
honed his platform skills to communicate business messages which
are unique to the hiring entity. Each assembly of businesses in
the form of conferences or conventions come together for a specific
purpose. That purpose may be to address a real or perceived threat
to their industry, to expand their industry into heretofore unexplored
markets, or merely to create or enhance solidarity between and
among industry participants. Whatever the purpose, meeting planners
look to craft a gathering which will initiate or support the direction
of the industry and their company in particular.
Garry provides keynote, breakout,
or facilitation services which
are designed to support the vision of the meeting planner, and
are an integral part of the image the meeting planner wishes to
create. Each speech is crafted in concert with selected attendees.
Following the identification of the message the meeting planner
wishes to be delivered by the speech, an iterative process is
begun. Garry requests, and usually receives, the names of a few
enrolled attendees along with their contact information. The due
diligence of placing the telephone calls to determine what those
attendees would consider the important issues of the conferences
reveals valuable, and sometimes new and divergent information,
which often becomes the framework for the speech preparation.
Garry’s theme is solidarity of a business vision within
an organization, and this theme permeates the speech content and
delivery. The practical application of spreading that word is
the heart of each speech. The how of moving attendees forward
is the measure of effectiveness of Garry’s efforts. It is
in how attendees feel “three-days-after” which is
the true measure of the effectiveness of the speech. It is in
the changing or influencing of attendees’ behavior where
the value of a speaker’s worth is found. The partnering
of the meeting planner and the speaker to form agreement as to
what is desired as an outcome is where the real speech value is
found.

These are unpaid “gigs” and yet they can provide
a valuable opportunity to a speaker. Find out more here.

Conferences are meetings of two or more interested parties for
the purpose of discussing matters of common concern. Many opportunities
will come to speakers to speak at conferences. Find out more
here.

My signature speech is that leaders must delineate and promote
the company vision. They must live and breathe that vision,
and continually educate workers at every level to deliver this
company vision. Find out more here.
- Platform
Skills
Platform skills are the ways in which a speaker reaches out
to connect with his/her audience. When audience members make
a change in their lives three days after you’ve spoken,
you’ve arrived as a speaker. Find out more here.
- The
Business of Speaking
One’s overall purpose in speaking is to either gain clients,
earn money, or both. That is a business. This section is about
how one runs that business and how one delivers value there
and how one gets paid to deliver value. Find out more here.
- Seminars
Seminars are gatherings of members of the same or similar industry
to discuss, study, and further the knowledge and advancement
